Description

A festive and colorful treat perfect for the 4th of July, Valentine’s Day, or any celebration. Light, fluffy, and fun to decorate.


Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix (15.2518.25 oz)
  • 1¼ cups water
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • ¼ cup funfetti sprinkles (jimmies)
  • Red food coloring (gel-based preferred)
  • 23 drops raspberry or vanilla candy oil (optional)
  • Cupcake liners
  • Piping or zip-top bags

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Mix cake mix, water, oil, and egg whites until smooth.
  3. Fold in sprinkles gently.
  4. Divide batter: keep 2/3 white, color the rest pink, then deepen part to red.
  5. Pipe white batter into liners 1/3 full. Add red, then pink layers using piping bags.
  6. Bake 15–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool 5 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack. Frost when completely cool.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring to prevent watering down the batter.
  • Heart sprinkles or stars work well for seasonal decorating.
  • Store in airtight container up to 3 days, or freeze unfrosted.
