Terms of Use

Last updated:

1. Welcome to Note the Recipe

Hey there! Welcome to Note the Recipe (“Site,” “we,” “our,” “us”). I’m so glad you’re here! By visiting or using any part of my site, you’re agreeing to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If something doesn’t sit right with you, please don’t use the site.

I may need to update these Terms from time to time by posting a new version right here. You can also check out my Privacy Policy to see how I handle your personal information. If you keep using the site after I make changes, that means you’re okay with the new Terms.

2. Age Requirements

This site is designed for folks who are 13 years of age or older. If you’re under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to help you navigate the site.

3. How to Use My Site

All my recipes, cooking tips, and articles are here to help make your time in the kitchen more enjoyable! Everything I share is for informational and entertainment purposes only. Your use of any content is at your own risk.

I can’t promise that every recipe will match your skill level, kitchen equipment, or dietary needs – we all have different setups! That’s totally normal, and I encourage you to adapt recipes to work for your family.

I want to be completely transparent with you about how I keep this site running:

  • The site displays ads, sponsored posts, and affiliate links
  • If you buy something through an affiliate link, I may receive a small commission—at no extra cost to you
  • When I mention products, it’s based on my honest opinions and research, but I can’t guarantee how third-party goods or services will work for you
  • I do not ask you to click on ads – that actually violates advertising rules
  • Any purchase you make with a third party is between you and that company

5. Food Safety & Health Disclaimer

This is really important: my recipes don’t replace professional medical or dietary advice. I’m a home cook who loves sharing what works in my New Orleans kitchen, but I’m not a doctor or nutritionist.

Always double-check that ingredients are safe for you, especially if you have allergies or health conditions. I am not liable for illness, injury, or damages that may result from preparing or eating any recipe. Trust your instincts – if something doesn’t look, smell, or taste right, don’t eat it!

6. My Content & Your Rights

Unless I note otherwise, all the text, photos, and other content on this site belongs to Note the Recipe. You’re welcome to link to my posts and share them with friends, but please don’t reproduce full recipes or photos without written permission.

What you can do:

  • Share recipe links on social media
  • Print recipes for personal use
  • Adapt recipes for your family (and I’d love to hear how it went!)

What you can’t do:

  • Copy entire posts to other websites
  • Use my photos without permission
  • Remove my name or website credit from shared content

7. Comments & Community

When you leave a comment, you’re giving me permission to display, modify, or remove your submission. I want to keep our comment section welcoming for everyone, so I may delete anything that seems unlawful, harmful, or off-topic.

I love hearing about your cooking adventures, recipe modifications, and questions! Just keep things friendly and helpful for our whole community.

Have a question about a specific recipe? Feel free to ask in the comments on that recipe post, or reach out through my Contact page.

I sometimes link to other websites for your convenience – maybe a product I recommend or a technique tutorial. I don’t have control over those sites and can’t take responsibility for their content, accuracy, or practices.

9. What’s Not Allowed

Please don’t use my site to:

  • Do anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful
  • Post defamatory, obscene, or offensive material
  • Copy, scrape, or republish site content without permission
  • Try to hack, disrupt, or mess with the site’s operation
  • Spam the comments with promotional content

If you violate these rules, I may need to suspend or terminate your access to the site.

10. No Warranties

I do my best to provide accurate, helpful content, but the site and everything on it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, I can’t make any guarantees about how things will work for you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Note the Recipe won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site. I’m here to help you cook delicious food, not to take on legal responsibility for every possible outcome!

If you believe something on my site infringes your copyright, please send a takedown notice to support@notetherecipe.com or use my Contact form with ‘DMCA’ in the subject line. Include:

  • Your contact information

13. Changes to the Site

I’m always trying to improve the site and add new features! I may add, modify, or remove content and features at any time without notice. I can’t guarantee the site will always be available, but I’ll do my best to keep it running smoothly.

14. Termination

I hope it never comes to this, but I may need to suspend or terminate your access to the site if you violate these Terms or do something harmful to our community.

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, I’ll amend that portion while keeping the rest in effect. These Terms, together with my Privacy Policy, represent our complete agreement about using the site.

16. Questions?

If you have questions about these Terms, I’d love to hear from you! Email me at support@notetherecipe.com or use the Contact form on the site.
